House lockouts
Locked out at home, from the marina to the valleys. We open it without damage where we can, and check that you live there first.
Lockouts, rekeys, new locks, and car keys from the marina to Kalama Valley. We come to you every day, 6 AM to 9 PM.
Pacific Locksmith works all over Hawaii Kai, from the marina homes and Portlock to Mariner's Ridge, Hahaione Valley, and Kalama Valley. Most calls here are house and car lockouts, rekeys, locks replaced with hardware that stands up to salt air, new deadbolts and smart locks, car keys and fobs, and work for shops at the Towne Center and Koko Marina. The van brings the key blanks and programming gear, so one visit handles most of it. You get a fair arrival window when you call, and we work every day from 6 AM to 9 PM.

About six in ten homes here were built before 1980. A rekey after a purchase retires every key the last owners had.
Replacing a corroded lock with stainless or solid brass hardware that holds up better to salt air.
Salt and age make cylinders drag. We service them, pull broken keys, and replace what is past saving.
Businesses at Hawaii Kai Towne Center, Koko Marina Center, and the other centers: rekeys when staff change, lock repairs, exit hardware.
Keys locked in the car at Koko Marina or the beach. We open it without damage and make most keys and fobs on the spot.
Kalanianaole Highway is the way in. The City's East Honolulu plan calls it the only major roadway in East Honolulu, so everything, us included, comes along the same road.
That is why you get an arrival window from us rather than a fixed time. Tell us the street and nearest cross street, or the shopping center and where you parked, and we will say how long the drive looks.
Aina Haina, Kahala, and the rest of East Honolulu are on the same road, so they are part of the same trip.

Hawaii Kai was planned as a whole. Henry J. Kaiser announced it in 1959, and the City's plan describes how the old Maunalua fishpond was dredged and filled to make the subdivisions and the private marina.
So a lot of the housing is from the same era. In ZIP 96825 the median home was built in 1977, about six in ten predate 1980, and about 83 percent are owner-occupied, per the Census Bureau's American Community Survey.
With the marina channels and the ocean close by, salt air reaches a lot of front doors. When a lock here needs replacing, it is worth choosing stainless or solid brass over plated hardware, so the next one lasts.
Most house locks can be. The exceptions are cheap locks with no removable cylinder, some high-security locks whose keys are controlled by the manufacturer, and cylinders too worn or corroded to be worth saving. In those cases we tell you, and replacing the lock is the better buy.
Stainless steel and solid brass hold up far better than plated or zinc hardware. Where the maker offers a finish rated for coastal use, it is worth it on doors that face the water. A dry lock lubricant once or twice a year keeps the keyway from seizing.
Usually. A door that will not catch is most often a strike plate out of line, a worn latch, or a door that has shifted. We adjust or replace the strike and latch, and if the door or frame has moved too far, we tell you it needs a carpenter.
